  1. Boiling Veggies – No nutritionist would recommend this method of cooking vegetables since water is the prime enemy of nutrients. Boiling can easily damage numerous B vitamins and vitamin C in vegetables. A lot of flavors may be lost due to the nutrient soaked boiling water evaporating into steam. However, this is one of the easiest ways of cooking vegetables and needs basic chopping skills. Bring water to a boil, add basic seasonings like salt and pepper, and add your chopped vegetables. 


You need to remember that to get the vegetables to the preferred tenderness you need to follow one out of either option. Take out the veggies a minute or two before it has reached your desired tenderness. You need to do this since vegetables cook from the residual heat after you take them out of the boiling water. Or, you can stop the cooking process by running boiled vegetables under cold water. 


  1. Steaming vegetables – Steaming vegetables is probably the best and easiest way to cook vegetables. It doesn’t damage the nutrients and locks in all the flavor. They also come out healthier since you don’t use oil, fat, or grease. To steam vegetables, boil a pot of water and put your vegetables over that in a steamer basket. After they are cooked you can season them to your preference and also add aromatics like ginger or garlic.   


  1. Stir-Frying veggies – Even though this term is often interchanged with sautéing, both are very different. When you stir fry vegetables you do that at high speed and much higher temperature and involve a fair measure of technique since you need to toss your vegetables continuously so that they don’t sear or burn. However, you don’t exclusively require a wok for stir-frying. A sauté pan will get the job done. You also need to prepare your ingredients before you start the cooking process. This method allows you to enjoy flavorful vegetables with a crispy texture and gives you the freedom to coat them in a sauce of your choice. 


  1. Baking and Roasting Vegetables – Roasting is also quite an easy way to cook your veggies. It takes a bit more time than other methods but grants you flavorful and caramelized vegetables that can be fed to children without a dessert bribe. Baking is also done in the same way. However, with baking your veggies don’t get caramelized.
